Matt received his MBA from The Babcock Graduate School of Management at Wake Forest University in 1999, where he was presented with the Babcock Award for excellence in academics, integrity and leadership. He earned his undergraduate degree in accounting from North Carolina State University in 1993. Before joining Salem as an investment advisor, Matt spent 13 years as an investment manager at Truist Wealth (formerly BB&T Wealth), providing clients with customized investment management and personalized financial advice. He became a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in 1996 and earned the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation in 2002.
