Joyner graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with honors in economics in 1992 and a master of accounting in 1993. He earned an MBA with distinction from Wake Forest University in 1998. Before joining Salem, Joyner was a portfolio manager at Abbot Downing, a Wells Fargo business, providing wealth management services to ultra-high net worth families for 11 years. Joyner has over 20 years of investment experience, including positions in portfolio management, fixed income, investment banking, and public accounting. He became a Certified Public Accountant in 1994 and earned the Chartered Financial Analyst designation in 1999. Joyner is an active volunteer in the community and currently serves as the vice-chairman of his church’s investment committee.
